"This is a very large and quite old hotel. The room we stayed in was large and pleasant but the hotel's plumbing was loud enough to disturb our sleep, as were the footsteps of the people in the room above.
The WiFi in the room was inadequate and kept cutting out. I had to use the public areas to work.

"Room was clean, lift didn’t get swept in the 5 nights I was there and had a lot of dried mud in it. I extended by a couple of nights because my friends were still there and reception man wasn’t very helpful. "The room was basically dirty & scruffy.
Linen & towels ok but the floor needed vacuuming & bathroom floor around skirting looked like had never been cleaned.
Staff seemed stretched & too busy, most of the dinner menu was sold out & my partners poached eggs on toast resembled hard boiled eggs on toast as overdone.
The pub is in a great location & my overall stay was not awful but should have been better.
The room was only £65 so wasn't expecting the Ritz but expected a clean room without flaking...

All food is excellent and staff are very friendly and accommodating.
Spa/pool is smaller than expected.

Room was basic but clean. Lovely hotel with a warm , comfortable atmosphere. Lovely to see children and adults alike enjoying their time together. Will definitely return with our grandchildren next time !"
