"Location, ideal for walking everywhere."

"We have stayed at the Adelphi on numerous occasions but this might be the last. The shabby splendour has reached a new bottom. The bar had an unpleasant smell as did the communal areas. You could not use the front doors due to refurbishment. The Matress in our room was terrible and really hard...we did not sleep well. We overheard another couple saying they had been woken up by someone kicking a door in further down the corridor on the same floor as ours. Unsavoury characters also hanging around the foyer and no one from the Adelphi seemed bothered or acting on what customers were telling them. We won't be going again...such a shame."

"Have stayed at the hotel a number of times now, always friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms and this stay was no different. Only downside was having to navigate the haze of cigarette smoke right outside the front door to the hotel - less than ideal - but maybe that's more on the clientele than the hotel itself. Spacious & clean rooms, decent breakfast (if a little overpriced) - we didn't have option to not have breakfast on Saturday due to our itinerary, but went elsewhere Sunday. Good selection of beers & spirits available at the bar too."

"Lovely hotel. However room was roating hot with no air con. Only 1 window opened a very short distance and the lack of air and the heat made it very unpleasant. We asked reception for a fan, night time e receptionist couldn't have cared less. The morning receptionist was very apologetic and advised they were waiting a back order of fans. Hotel needs to either have air con or fans in place or facility to open a window down properly to be able to cool and air room."
