"A couple of nights stay in April. We came up from London and arrived a couple of hours early, hoping to either check in early or at the very least that our bags could be held at reception, as you can in some hotels but not here. You can register your car for the car park, and the use of the bar & restaurant. Once checked into our standard room without a sea view, be prepared for a long walk and a few stairs to your room, but once in the room it is clean and well presented. Breakfast on the weekend, if you're like us and you like a slightly later breakfast, you'll be ok. The staff are friendly and helpful. Worth a stay if you're going Sunderland."

"Nice clean hotel. Excellent location. Room was a bit small. Breakfast is not the best. Lacking staff to clear tables. Only has one coffee machine which didn’t work half the time. Limited choice. Staff were friendly enough. Despite breakfast I would certainly return. "

"In the description it stated self parking included, washer and dryer. There was no parking. We had to park in a structure 10 + minutes away at an additional $10 cost. There was only a washing machine, and the machine was not hooked up to the water. After contacting the owner, they did not know why it was not hooked up, and when asked about the dryer, stated there was no dryer, places do not have dryers. My husband had to look at the washing machine and noticed it was not hooked up to water, which he did. In addition, the property did not have hot water. when I contacted the owner again, she said look for a hot water turn on. we looked and could not fix this issue. The owner stopped taking my calls and would not respond. This was the worst stay we have ever encountered. The only reason we chose this place was for the included parking and the ability to do laundry, which was not the case. The false advertisement and the unacceptable conditions of no hot water was the reason for our poor rating"

"Check in and breakfast were good. The area is close to great pubs and restaurants and the metro. Unfortunately in the year since we last stayed here, the hotel looks a little rough inside. Carpet looks beat up. There are dings and scuffs all over the walls inside hotel rooms. We had a great time otherwise. "

"There was no heating on during my stay; the room was cold. The TV on the wall had no nearby socket to plug it into. The lamp on the table had no socket to plug it into. Two of the pictures on the wall were shocking. The curtains were back to front: the right side faced out, and the lining faced the room. Moreover, they were really thin with lots of human hair between the lining and the curtain. "
