"The Wessex Inn is well located on Cowichan Bay and very affordable compared to other properties. We experienced excellent service and found the remodelled room (with a king bed and kitchen facilities) clean and comfortable. The view of the bay from our balcony was a nice bonus. We would definitely stay there again."

"Contact-less check-in was super clear, the cottage was spacious, quiet and updated. Great views from the deck, not a direct lake view but lovely nonetheless. Wifi worked well, there were DVDs and games in the room too which was a nice touch. My feedback would be that if guests are asked to wash dishes before leaving (not a problem), dishsoap should be provided. The kitchen was relatively well stocked with utensils and dishes, but bring your own everything: sugar, oil, cling wrap, etc. The stove hood fan did nothing to ventilate and the recliners didn't recline (they weren't even plugged in, as in there was no adapter to plug) so while it wasn't perfect it was still a great getaway for a few days."

"Arrived 9 pm but was nice someone still there at desk to greet me. Very friendly. Room large, very old motel. Needs bit of an upgrade, as old bare bones, looking its age. Bathroom could use shelves, as small sink area, and need a plug for bathtub!! None to be found. Loved large kitchen space. Clean and well maintained for its age."

"Pros; check-in easy, parking easy, beds fine, clean linens, helpful staff Cons; shower way too low, very dated room, smoking allowed on balconies which chased us into our room (room smelled of smoke), AC behind curtain that couldn't be pushed aside due to bracket, patio door didn't lock, when trying to sleep there was an odd and annoying clicking sound but couldn't find the source, when we were able to sit on the balcony it was a lovely view but extremely noisy because of highway."
