"If I could give a negative for the stars I would. I stayed at this hotel in September 2025 and the comforter was dirty. We removed the comforter before going to sleep, as we refused to sleep with this. The next morning I showed this to the management, an indeed they agreed it was dirty and they apologized. I decided to give the hotel another chance, therefore I stayed at the same hotel during the April 2026 school holidays with my two boys, and again the bed sheets had human hairs and dog hair in them and additionaly general stains. Again the next morning I approached to management to inform them of the issue, mentioning this was not the first time it occurred. Management, did not take any actions again just an apology. Clean bed sheets are the basic rules of cleanliness. "

"The only good thing about this place is that the rooms were clean. Everything else was terrible. There was no water in the kitchen for 3/4 days and the staff did not tell us on check in. The kitchen was dirty as no one could do dishes or wipe down the benches. When I asked the staff tab out the water, they were rude and unapologetic, did not attempt to explain the situation. There were no parties but guest staying up late till 2am chatting on the deck so was noisy. The bunk beds are not sturdy, every time someone turn, the whole bunk moves and makes a noise as well. The staff wanted to keep our credit cards on a piece of paper behind the counter on arrival. I tried to explained that it was inappropriate and they got the number of their computer and wrote my credit card details on the piece of paper. "

"This is such an amazing hotel in the heart of Dunedin City Centre. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and provided great recommendations for what to explore. The restaurant staff were also very accommodating. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here. "

"Despite the website advertising a bar and restaurant there were neither only a breakfast room. The 25NZD parking per night also comes as a surprise ! The hotel is typical 3 star but beginning to look a little tired. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast simple but adequate."
