"great hotel, rooms are only actual blackout curtains we encountered on our trip. Property feels 5 star, staffing makes it 4 star due to lack of attention to detail and making people feel welcomed. We ended up adding an extra day and cancelled another hotel we had reserved, Hot tubs were great as well but could have been warmer, sauna has a view of the glacier, and a natural cold plunge below."

"Location: perfect Suite: we stayed in a corner suite with super large windows on two sides. Bathroom had a large window. Suite had a balcony with a hot tub. Absolute gem of a suite. Suite also had a Dyson fan which was immensely useful since windows couldn’t be opened because of beastly winds (60-70 mph). Breakfast: was good but not great - Hotel Jokülsarlon had a better breakfast. Breakfast area felt a bit cramped. Dinner: menu items were awesome (Bordeaux, Arctic char etc). But whole...

"Decent stay"

"This place is so peaceful and quiet! I was running late and the reception desk was closed it was about 3:30AM when I got there. I called the number of the hotel and someone guided me to my exact cottage and even after our call he sent a text message with all the details. I was so grateful because after a long drive the last thing you want to do is have look for your room or cottage! Thank you for making my stay a safe and memorable one."

"From the warm and friendly staff to the spacious, spotless rooms, everything about this stay was excellent. Free parking, delicious food, and a convenient location made the experience even better. Highly recommended for anyone looking for comfort and great hospitality!"

"The guesthouse is right off Route 1 and about 2 miles outside of Hofn. The rooms are well-maintained and reasonably spacious. There is a large kitchen/dining area with enough tables to eat or work. There are 1.5 baths downstairs and one bathroom upstairs. It is easy to get on Route 1 to drive to different destinations. It is also an easy drive into Hofn to get dinner or groceries, but not necessarily walkable."

"The workers were lovely, the dinner food was good, the bar had good options and outdoor area was nice, but nothing special about their breakfast. The most disappointing was the room. Odd layout with a sink and high counter in the main room outside the shower with a bar stool. The room was so hot when we arrived we had to leave for a while. They finally brought a fan but it didn't do much good due to the high ceilings. Luckily we had outdoor plans so we were not in the room much."

"Really enjoyed our stay here. We were three friends travelling and had booked a family room. Property upgraded us to a room with four beds . Was awesome. Dinner required reservations or notice prior but we used nearby cafe for one night. Great breakfast included . Location was good for Vatnajokull visit and Diamon Beach."

"Hatten Deluxe Bungalow. Kleine Küchenzeile, Bad, Schlafraum. Insgesamt okay. Was uns störte: Wlan reichte nicht bis zu uns. Der Warmwasserboiler hängt neben dem Bett und produziert enorme Hitze, Lüften ging wegen der vielen Fliegen praktisch nicht. Es gab praktisch keine Flächen für die Koffer, die mussten rings ums Bett herum verteilt werden. Die Bungalows sind mit Blech verkleidet, so auch deren Dach. Bei entsprechendem Wind wird es sehr laut."

"Room is located in a rundown apartment building, unprofessionally furnished with IKEA furniture. Front desk shared with another hotel a few blocks away. PS, there is an oversupply of hotel rooms in Iceland. Do not book in advance - price goes down in summer."

"I booked this hotel because there was nothing available elsewhere and the pictures looked good. I paid $660 for one night which is a premium rate. The hotel has no staff - entry is completely automated. It was difficult to find the room as there was another building with the same room number. The room was very small with no privacy - bottom floor and only a curtain to cover the fully transparent door. Another guest mistakenly tried to enter the room and there many people from other rooms...

"Great stop between destinations. Not much around it and a long gravel road to access it. Close to the Vok Lagoon. Spacious room for a family and the unit has a kitchen and a separate bedroom."

"The room was exceptionally clean and surprisingly modern despite the building's age. The staff were awesome—friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help. Overall, it was a wonderful stay, and I would gladly recommend this place to others."
