Waterfront Troutdale Hideaway: Sandy River Fishing

"The house is secure, we'll appointed, cozy and comfortable. The 3 bedrooms are good for 5-6 people. The living room is very nice for hanging out. The kitchen has all modern furnishings and appliances. Coffee was provided along with some other items. Sitting on the back deck on cool mornings was the best, watching the birds, river (30 ft away), a nice small back-yard (lovely flowers and shrubs). It was fun later in the day watching people floating on inner tubes and other floating items down the Sandy River. It's location is great for exploring east on the historic Columbia River Highway, great waterfalls, wineries, scenery and fun restaurants. Just across the river in Troutdale we enjoyed the little downtown, a great pizza restaurant and a concert at McMenamins venue (upscale good restaurant also)."

"We absolutely loved our stay in this charming little red caboose! It has been so thoughtfully refurbished into a cozy vacation rental, complete with a small kitchen and bathroom—and the cupola was such a fun and unique sleeping spot for our daughter, Katelyn.We happened to stay during probably one of the hottest weeks of the year in Troutdale, but the little air-conditioning unit did a surprisingly good job of keeping the caboose comfortable. One of our favorite things was the porch built right off the caboose. The views were absolutely beautiful and bucolic—it was such a peaceful place to sit and enjoy the surroundings as well as use the outdoor grill for our dinner one of the nights. Jennifer and Phil were wonderful hosts. We especially appreciated the simple, healthy and thoughtful breakfast foods they left for our four-day stay.Communication was great, Jennifer and Phil were friendly and helpful, and the caboose itself was such a fun and memorable place to stay. We were there Wednesday through Sunday and truly loved our time there. We would absolutely stay again!"

"Overall our 1-night stay was very good. The staff were nice and helpful. The property was decently maintained and room was clean. Beds were comfortable and bedding was very clean. Lots of clean towels. The breakfast was great in the morning. Our only issue was that the pool and hot tub were cloudy which is a bad sign so we decided not to use them. Other than that, we are very pleased with our experience and would definitely stay again."
