"Room was nice. Restaurant service and cleanliness let our stay down. The first night, the chairs were dirty with food crumbs and our food came before our drinks. Second night my husband did not receive his drink. On our last day, we had breakfast and the staff were not clearing tables, guests were having to ask for food to be replenished. Stayed a couple of years ago and had a lovely stay, which is why we decided to return. Unfortunately it has gone really down hill. Will not be back"
"The room was cramped, room 28 , I think it must be the worst room in the hotel , you are not in the main building so have walk about 5 minutes for an evening meal and for breakfast. There is no castle or garden view , just a view of the back. Breakfast was okay but the service was very slow , you are basically paying a fortune to stay in this historic castle building so if that floats your boat then great, however I wouldn’t say the food or service is anything special , certainly not for the...
"We had a fantastic stay! Our “standard double” room was better than expected, comfortable bed, spacious, great bath and good water pressure in shower. The choice and quality of food both at breakfast and dinner was excellent, well priced and very tasty. Perhaps the stand out feature of the Beaumont is the staff, without exception..their friendliness and attention leant to a welcoming and relaxed stay."
"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, wish we could have stayed longer. The food was very good, the room was large and clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay again."
"Clean, comfortable, spacious room. Great, helpful staff. Close to bus station, restaurants, stores, boutiques, and four-FOUR charity shops! :)
(Parking is confusing, however. Park in the nearby city lot in a space with WHITE borders-otherwise you may have to pay.)"
"I had a very bad experience with this hotel, it’s not a hotel, it’s not 4 star, there isn’t breakfast, no wifi and the owner doesn’t care.
The rooms are not actually attached to the bar/restaurant downstairs so upon check in I I had to ask around as I was not given any instructions, where the barman gave me the owners number and I just had to keep calling until she picked up the phone to tell me the code to the lockbox.
The room was fine but nothing special by any means. Breakfast is a room...
"Our room was very clean, the staff were excellent and the food was very good. We thought the cost of room and breakfast was a bit pricey. Some refurbishment is needed, the easy chair in our room was very uncomfortable and threadbare."
"Such a neat location! Wish we could have stayed longer. It was a rushed overnight in transit between sights. The host was so kind. Appreciated the clean room and the breakfast options."
"The scotch Arms was one of the most beautiful B & B I have stayed in. It was well decorated, maintaining the integrity of the old, yet modernizing for today.
Our host Diane was extremely helpful, especially in organizing lunches and a taxi. Provided a map for walking around town & where to eat! She went out of her way to provide comfort.
Exceptional breakfast was provided. Highly recommend."
"We had a lovely stay at the Old Schoolhouse. Our room and bathroom were spacious. Our hosts had homemade treats for us each day (an oatmeal raisin cookie our first day and a piece of spice cake the next). Our breakfast was at a large table with the other guests. We loved talking to them, several of whom were walking the length of Hadrian's wall. The breakfast itself was delicious and generous. We would absolutely stay here again."
"Great property, clean, excellent master bedroom, well equiped, brilliant location and in a peaceful spot, however the hot tub stopped working / went to standby mode and couldnt be used so felt like the one main reason we booked this property and couldnt use it.
The stairs are very steep and were difficult to go up and down.
Ideal for kielder and surrounding areas. "
"Awesome place to chill and do absolutely nothing. The wife and kids loved it and if we can get some spare time later in the year we would 100% book it again.
