"When we arrived about 5.45pm Sunday evening we could hear a lot of noise coming from the bar area . We went to our room and freshened up arriving back at the bar about 6.15pm. The bar was dominated by a group of "locals" who were worst for wear, shouting and swearing. My husband and I retreated to the terrace which was a bit cool. "I could not have been more centrally located. It is an old place, so floors slope and doorways are low. But after a few weeks in these parts, I know to look. Dinner was lovely; the pie superb. And I was grateful they minded my luggage after checkout since my train departure was later in the day."

"You telephone on arrival for instructions to park in a side street if there is space (first come first served), we got a bit lost trying to find the parking area and had to call a few times but got there in the end and luckily there was space. You telephone again when you get to the door of the property for the code to get in and staff talk you through where your room is, where your key card is and how to use the door locking/unlocking panel.
