A lovely elegant well maintained hotel. The staff are friendly and obliging.
The room was cosy but big enough for two Breakfasts were nicely cooked with good quality ingredients.
We would definitely stay again.
Very convenient location. Essentially it is part of the very extensive railway station making travel much easier. However the hotel obviously once was a palatial building but now is badly in need of a major renovation and update. Enjoy the history but the royals have moved out.
The Milner went over and above to make our 45th wedding anniversary weekend superb. The food was lucious and they have a very good selection of drink. The staff are extremely welcoming and knowledgable.
Excellent hotel, staff friendly and helpful. Good choice at breakfast and very tasty.

This beautiful old building is such a lovely place to stay in York. The staff can’t do enough for you and the bedrooms are well equipped and very comfortable. The location for the Train station is perfect and It’s just a short walk into the city. Would highly recommend.
Very friendly staff. Hotel very clean and presents. The Room was very warm not ideal for sleep during the night, have to leave the window open. Overall very good.
Hotel was lovely and clean and looked beautiful inside and out. Food was good with plenty of choice at breakfast. All staff were lovely and really helpful and very pleasant. Bathroom in our room was massive and the shower had great pressure. I would say that the room for a superior room was on the small side and should really have bathrobes and slippers.

Really nice hotel . Great staff and room was lovely
If travelling by train location is, of course, excellent. The building is old but that is part of its charm and it is well maintained. Very spacious and quite impressive.
The room was clean and the staff were very friendly.
At breakfast there was a good selection of food if you arrived early but not much choice towards the end of service. In the evening my preferred chouce of meal had sold out.

A firm favourite of ours great location lovely hotel and grounds and the friendliest staff cannot fault it
Room was clean and nice but heating did not work properly and after one cold night we were given small electric radiators. Breakfast was very average. Communal areas in the hotel were very nice although pool was closed which we had not been told about. Location is excellent.
