"The location is perfect.
6min walk to the bus/train station.
Staff friendly/helpful.
Restaurant was large portions/well priced.
Rooms were clean, but shabby around the edges, despite bathroom reno.
As a designer, I can see they used completely inappropriate materials and shower structure for a commercial property. Water is getting everywhere and it’s destroying their bathrooms.
Our bedroom had visible signs of leaking in the ceilings (possibly from an upstairs bathroom) which was a bit gross...
"Was told had lift access from ground level for a disabled person. Upon arrival was informed life was out off order. No contact with our selves to advise us of the situation. So we were left to source alternatiive accommodation ourselves.
No help from the hotel.
Still awaiting a full refund.

"Beware: great staff, but the building badly needs repair. The company is in administration and the hotel is up for sale. Know what you're booking.
Read recent reviews first: the website photos don't reflect reality. Mould allergy? Avoid. Prices range from under £100 to over £200 a night; only consider the lower end. If you're out hiking all day and just need a bed, it will do, but it's no place to spend time. Insist on an updated room!
Staff are the highlight: positive, helpful and polite from...
"Hotel was located at a prime spot in Inveraray, lovely views and within a block of the shops. The restaurant was a bit understaffed, food was good, just be prepared to wait a bit. Room was comfortable and well stocked with tea/coffee/snacks."
"The property manager buzzes you in when you get there. Huge first floor room with a bath tube. Easy walk down to the main area. Good options are tough in town and breakfast is limited."
"A very nice stay The fan in the bathroom was very noisy and needed some attention
Staff in restaurant were very helpful Would definitely stay again Used Gondola which was one of the highlights of our trip"
"The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was nice, large and had everything needed. The bathroom was small but adequate, the linens were large and fluffy. The breakfast, which was extra, we felt was good for the price paid. And consisted of cold items and a menu of hot items."
"Hotel was great! It’s in a good location, we really liked the common area to seat, read and have a drink. Breakfast and dinner was also great! Highly recommend"
"Small rooms and I did not know how to get some cool air into the space. Great management. Great bar in the place with incredible music. Works for a night. Would be hard for me to make it work longer."
"The heater in the room didn't work so instead of bleeding the radiator and fixing it properly, they set up a portable heater. This hotel needs a lot of renovation and it appears it had needed it for a while."
"We had no issues with the property! We might have liked to know when booking that there is a bar and restaurant on site as we had dinner before we arrived!
Breakfast was a full meal and we had choices so very good! Room and bed was good and clean!"
"Great location. Safe and easy walking around Fort Willams.
Room was clean, but we asked for limited cleaning during the 3 days.
First morning we requested just simple tidy up. Didn't happen, garbage and tea cups were not cleaned or replaced. 2nd morning went to frontdesk and requested towels and tidy up. They took the used towels, left no replacements. The garbage, which is now full, remained full for the balance of our stay. The frontdesk did bring clean towels. We washed our cups."
