"If you are looking for 4 or 5* ratings then the Waterford Arms isn't for you. If you want honest, no frills accommodation with wonderful staff and great food then you're onto a winner. We had a great stay and when the area had a power cut on a fully booked restaurant on Saturday night the staff were amazing. "Great stay at Stay Coastal. Team was great with help getting checked in. While check in on hotels.com says 3 the hotel says it is 4pm so plan accordingly. They were very kind letting us check in at 3 instead as I had a call to be on which was very kind. Super great stay in a great neighbourhood close to the metro. Would highly recommend for anyone staying in the area. "

"We stayed for 5 nights and wish we could have stayed longer. Sally and Paul were perfect hosts, friendly and chatty. The room was clean and well equipped. The location was great, not too far from the centre or the attractions but nice and quiet. Only had breakfast once but it was delicious. Everything was clean and we had all we needed. "This is a wonderful property right in the middle of Jesmond walking to the park. Staff are helpful and polite. Room was good size and comfortable nothing extraordinary though. Obviously this is an old house and in some cases it shows its age. Note it’s a 8-10 min drive to town so not walking to central Newcastle. There’s public transport which can take about half an hour or a bit more. But is worth the stay for its proximity to the park. "
