The Parnell Hotel & Conference Centre

"For a very inexpensive price, we were really happy with our room, which we had for 3 nights. Staff were really helpful and the location is great, with a couple of excellent cafes within walking distance. Great having a balcony for fresh air, and some thoughtful accessories were available like dishwashing liquid if you wanted to wash your cups…I hadn’t seen that before. We opted out of having our room cleaned, but they provided fresh towels whenever we asked for them."

"The Britomart is a great place for a short stay but not for an extended visit. The hotel is perfectly placed in the CBD, close to the cruise terminal and ferries, which is why we booked it. The immediate impression of the property and its rooms is excellent, but as you live there, it starts to irritate you. It is little things like the lack of coat hooks for outdoor stuff, that will get wet in Auckland. The lack of draws or shelves for your smalls The pocket door to the bathroom. But most of all the computer controlled lighting, which after 6 nights I still could not work properly. Why do we need dimmable lights in a bathroom? Just give me a switch. We did not eat in the hotel and only used the bar once. The restaurant seems to cater for the rich kids in finance to eat after work and thats not my scene. In all a good hotel and would be perfect with a few tweaks."
