"Our stay was fine. Our room was clean and well appointed, with a comfortable king sized bed. We were surprised to find that there were no robes to wear to the pool. At the pool there was one shower in the ladies washroom, with no place to change after showering. This facility was not what I have experienced in a Marriott previously. To be fair the pool was a good size and very clean.
The staff were friendly and helpful. However, the check in and checkout procedures were slow. The software was so slow and our room was not ready at check-in time even though the hotel did not seem to be busy. We were given a room on a lower floor although we had booked a room on a higher floor. This change was not given at a lower rate.
In conclusion, the hotel provided a comfortable room and the location in downtown Nanaimo was convenient, but service could be smoother."
