"Small elevator for 5 story building and it broke. Then the power was out in half the building and we had no hot water. Breakfast was average at best. Few fruit, yogurt and pastry options. I guess that is why they had last minute availability. At least the room was clean and the staff were nice."
"There is so much potential in this place! A beautiful old grand hotel that looks worn, but with some time and vision it could become a gem. Staff was excellent (especially Brid), breakfast was lovely each day, location and views across Oban Bay were spectacular. We would certainly stay here again and wish the ownership the very best as they seek to revive this lovely old property."

"Ok, we admit it. We travelers from the USA are spoiled when it comes to hotel accommodations. While traveling in Europe, we can manage, quaint, tight rooms with tiny baths and showers, but after a couple weeks, you need a break. MacClean House in Ft. William was welcomed relief. Exceptionally clean and newly renovated, we spread out in a large king bedroom with sitting area and a spacious (by local standards) bath with a nice soaking tub. Check in, while a bit ‘digital age’-ish was efficient...

"This was an outstanding place to stay and explore the Glencoe area. The hotel is 3 star with the staff 5 star. The food was excellent both dinners and breakfasts and the room and amenities were very nice. Value for money as good as anywhere we have been in Scotland. Highly recommend"
"We had a great time for the night we stayed here. I was unaware that we had to schedule a tour of the distillery. The only complaint I really had was the shower was a little small, but that seems to be a theme around there. The bartender has a wealth of knowledge about gin, whiskey and probably everything else. Bonus for a hot breakfast being included. 10 of 10 would stay again."
"Really nice room although main hotel a little dated. Especially carpets in main hallways coming away from the floor and a bit of a trip hazard. Overall can’t fault the room, clearly had been modernised and was comfy, bed a little hard but would happily return"
"Stayed here for a few days while driving from Skye to Edinburgh. Parking was easy. Mediocre hotel. Staff was frequently missing from the front desk, so had to wait a number of times. The place was sufficiently clean. There are two grocery stores and a McDonalds in close walking distance. While there was nothing wrong with this spot, I would probably go for a nicer hotel next time."
