The hotel is like a little museum to Chinese shadow art with so much information, examples and a library. An added bonus was the actual shadow art performance and demonstration by the puppeteer. "

In the restaurant they found a menu in English and a member of staff who spoke English. I checked in had dinner and crashed - after a 13-hour flight - so otherwise didn't get involved with hotel facilities apart from the coffee shop."

"The hotel is quite outdates. Carpet is dirty, has garbage left on the floor for 4 days. Room safe doesn't work, no heat for the first few days. "

"The hotel is fantastically located just a short walk from Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden Palace and the rest of central Beijing. Our room was tiny, but that's the price to be paid for a boutique room in a traditional hutong building and you can't argue with the price for this location. The staff were helpful, the room was clean and had everything we needed and breakfast was fine. The courtyard is beautiful and peaceful away from the noise of Beijing."
