"Staff both on reception and in the dining room were helpful, although at dinner we had to wait a long time before the food arrived. The main problem was that although the hotel wasn’t fully booked we were given a room (room 7) right on the very noisy road, over the bar and the outdoor festoon lights were on all night which filtered into the room. Had we stayed a second night we would have asked to be moved!"

"Very friendly welcome. A well appointed, clean and comfortable room with modern conveniences. Situated in an ideal location in the heart of the town."

"Excellent pub hotel in perfect location in centre of town. Thank you to Steve the Manager for warm welcome, hospitality and advice/tips. Would definitely stay again."

"We loved our stay at this hotel! The rooms were quaint and well made up. There was even a bathtub in our room, which was a game changer! "This was our fourth trip from Canada to the UK and our fourth stay at Thornbury Castle. There is something truly magical about staying in a place so steeped in history. The castle’s charm, character, and atmosphere make every visit feel like a special occasion. The staff and service are consistently exceptional, making us feel genuinely welcome each time we return. It’s rare to find a place that continues to impress you visit after visit, but Thornbury Castle never disappoints."
