"Grand hotel Cappuggi did not disappoint. I stayed with my 3 children for 10 nights end of june , start of july. Very reasonably priced 4* hotel experience haf by all. A little out of town (2 miles) but free shuttle bus (or taxi if not available) shows excellent customer care. Receptionists very helpful, cleaners nice and cheerful. Fabulous swimming pool essential in 38° temperatures. Football and tennis available. Ball provided keeping my boys well entertained. Thiroughly recommend this hotel as a point from where to explore Tuscany and further afield. "

"Comfortable hotel with caring staff and a wonderful breakfast. The autostrada was closed and the lady at the front met us late to help us check-in, which was greatly appreciated and she was also very kind."

"We didn’t stay as it was disgracefully dirty and the owners didn’t care. Told us we hadn’t paid for a room with a view when we complained about looking out at brick wall and scaffolding. Said we could move rooms for additional €75 per night but this room was as bad as the first one. Advertised spa didn’t exist, Refused to refund us "

"Our room was really spacious, with air con, which we appreciated in the very hot weather. It was great to have free parking right outside the hotel. The staff are all super friendly and speak great English and service was of a really high standard. Dinner was really delicious with a welcome prosecco and amuse bouche and we enjoyed eating it on the terrace overlooking the river. The owner introduced himself and explained the renovations he had done to improve the hotel. The devil’s bridge is really cool and only a few kilometres away. I would highly recommend a stay at this hotel."

"This is a beautiful old property, full of lovely artwork and charm, a real home. There is a lot of wildlife to enjoy. We had a lovely time staying here. It is well equipped Loads of books and dvds if staying in. We had a fair amount of wet weather unfortunately but was ok. We loved visiting Pescia, Lucca and Montecatino whilst we were there, all in easy driving distance. Try the fanicular going up to Montecatino Alta, stunning views and a square full of restaurants which was very jolly. One point of note is that the access to the house is down a very steep unmade up slope, and we found that a challenge being in our mid 70s, so senior citizens like us just need to be aware of this. The approach road is steep and winding. That said, it was still a great pleasure to stay at Il Rivo and the owner Michelle is lovely and very helpful. Great communication. Thankyou Michelle."
