"The staff at this hotel were excellent. But the room I first stayed in was just weird with the most unsettling wallpaper I've ever seen. It made me very stressed and nervous. The room was below street level, in a separate building from the main hotel which you had to walk along the street to get to. The phone was dead and the TV had no signal. I complained and the next day my room was changed to the one above, which was better and had no ghastly wallpaper but was enormous and still in the same building down the street. I felt like a poor relation. However, breakfast, which was served in the main building, was excellent and the restaurant staff very good as were the reception staff who did their best to help. The location of the hotel is very good with shops and some tourist attractions just a few minutes walk away."

"The hotel location is fantastic within the city and to be able to use the pool, sauna and steam room was a massive selling point for us! I will add, the gym is very small. They have 3 treadmills, x trainer and a bike and one bench with a small selection of dumbbells and two cable style machines. For us who train regularly it wasn’t fit for purpose but there is a fitness first opposite that offer day passes which is super convenient! The hotel itself was nice, there was a little black mould in the shower but aside from that, clean! The staff were polite and helpful but I would say more attention could be used in the pool facilities. Guests were walking in outside footwear to take a look and a lot of people taking photos in the pool where there are signs everywhere not to."

"I cannot say enough nice things about the staff at this place; such nice people! The location was great too - quiet but within walking distance to everything you could need. The room was well prepared, though not the best; the shower leaked and I couldn’t figure out how to get the TV to work. It was also small which is what I booked, but at the price point I might have hoped for something a bit nicer. But I will say it was made up for by the wonderful people working there; they were so nice and thoughtful. They left biscuits in my room to have with tea, and refilled them when I ate them! My room was on the top floor which was a hike, but that is the way these homes are. I do wish that there had been both shampoo and conditioner in the shower, though I notice hotels do tend to omit the latter. The location is on a quiet street, but right around the corner from Pulteney Bridge, and down the street from a lovely park. Overall I enjoyed my stay."
