"Accommodation was clean and convenient. However following check in with a lovely lady I was followed to my room by a male member of staff who appeared from knowhere questioning me on the age of my children which was followed by a lecture on taking underage children to an 18+ festival, which quite frankly I felt was non of his business!"

"If you can afford to stay elsewhere do!! Amazing location, great pub. Not a great hotel"

"Exactly what we need, a simple bedroom and food while visiting daughter at Uni."

"It is a great place to stay after a day of shopping at the Croft retail park. Once booked into the room and settled it was great to go into The Hungry Horse for a meal. Staff were nice and helpful."

"The Governors House is a fabulous small inn hotel. Yes it is rooms over a pub but there is no noise from the pub and the upstairs is very well appointed. The rooms are really nicely laid out, beautifully decorated and very clean. The bed was SO comfortable I slept past 7am for the first time in years! There is a private entrance for hotel guests if they don’t want to go via the bar (it is a nice pub with good food too!) and the rooms have all the usual amenities - tea, coffee, hairdryer etc....

"Good value for money, nice room, good food, and very good staff, all in all would recommend it"

"Rooms and bar needs redecorating out dated and not clean"

"Staff were very good but the manager was excellent. Very attentive and always involved in everything"
