"Very nice “classic” style older hotel kept up very well. The bed and pillows were comfortable, the view of the gorge (river) was great, and the dinner and breakfast absolutely delicious. Unfortunately I have a tattoo that is bigger than “one point” (palm size) so was not able to use the onsen. I wish the hotel would reconsider tattoo policy because it is so common for people from all countries including Japan to have tattoo art. This is the only reason why I could not give overall 5 stars."

The menu in their buffet (all you can eat) looked good, though we could go over most of menu items, too many items. The ones we tasted were excellent. We liked the variety of desserts served. "We had a very relaxing family holiday here. There were hardly any other guests when we stayed, and it was almost like having a private resort.The restaurant staff made us two lovely dinners and breakfasts, the first dinner was an intricate kaiseki spread, and the second was delicious grilled steak. Breakfast had plenty of options for both Japanese and Western style meals.
