"They have renovated since I have been here last and it looks great. The Restaurant staff is perfection. The coffee staff is so so kind. Especially this one older gentleman, he made small talk with all the guests and was so informative about blackberry pastries. And the lady who manages the gift shop. She checked in consistently and was so sweet. We enjoyed our time here and the views are incredible 😲"

"The inside was attractive and clean. The great room was spacious; the two master bedrooms were too. The two downstairs bedrooms were small (no closets at all); both doors were in need of WD-40 (very squeaky). The bunk room has an exterior door that is not well sealed (leaky). As other guests have stated, the air conditioning is not uniform. We made things work for our short stay, but would need something different for a longer stay. The outside amenities looked amazing in the listing. Unfortunately, at least four of the firepit chairs were broken (unsafe for kids); the lawn and flower beds were not maintained. The hot tub and sauna were nice though! As noted in the listing, there are also plenty of toys and children's games. Overall, we enjoyed staying here but expected better maintenance and amenities for the comparatively high price."

"ONE CAUTION FOR FUTURE TRAVELERS: For some weird reason, there are two locations with the same street address. If you plug the address into your maps app, make sure the place it is taking you to is near Morning Star and NOT near Blaineville and Cavetown."

"We loved everything about this charming cottage and were sad to leave. It’s very close to Shenandoah National Park and there are lots of materials at the cottage with suggestions for hikes and other outings. The cottage is the perfect peaceful spot after a long day of hiking. We highly recommend it!"
