"Despite retaining the old pub name, this is now a B&B only, so don't expect a bar or evening meals. The accommodation was good if a little quirky. Our bedroom had polished wood floors rather than carpet, but the beds were comfortable and the location was quiet. Breakfast (continental) is a help yourself arrangement and was fine. In our case, check in was done without the owner being onsite. He texted us the access codes. The bus stop for Carlisle was opposite the front door. We stayed one night while walking Hadrian's wall."

Thoughtful little gifts for our children as it was Christmas and a pack to decorate for New Years. Just wonderful.The barn itself was clean, spacious and fitted with everything you could need. Located in a remote area on a bird reserve was perfect for star gazing and lots of walks. Go prepared with a shop and settle in! The nearest shop is a 15 minute drive. The two eateries in the village are both welcoming with good choice of food.All in all this was a wonderful week away that was just what we were looking for.Perfect host, perfect property."
