"We stayed here after a week of events for our wedding with a few friends and it was EXACTLY what we needed to de-stress! The house is amazing! I’ve never felt so relaxed! The house is beautifully nestled on a mountain in the rainforest overlooking the ocean. Monkeys visited us every morning, as well as other local wildlife.Licho was the perfect host and was available if we needed anything. Will definitely be returning very soon!"

"I'm so happy that we found this place. This will be a spot we always return to for our family visits to Costa Rica. It's perfectly located near some of the BEST BEACHES and SURF spots in the world! We had SO much fun. How many places have their very own Private Waterfall, fresh Fruit Trees, sky view swimming pool, and top notch security. "We had such a lovely experience while staying here. I went back and forth between this house or a hotel and I'm so happy we choose this house. It made me feel like we got a real Costa Rican experience.Dont let the reviews of the drive-up scare you.It was a little scary the first time but we were totally fine after that initial drive, even in the dark. We saw a lot of cool animals and reptiles every drive up/down. We did experience both a power outage in the evening and a lack of water one morning, but there was excellent communication between the owner and Jairo. Speaking of which, knowing Jairo was near by if needed was a huge relief for our family since we were traveling with four young kids. We brought a package of 5 headlamps from amazon and that was plenty of light to light up the house at night the evening the mountain lost electricity.The property is gorgeous. Like....beyond gorgeous. It felt like heaven sitting on the balcony enjoying the plants, wildlife, and ocean views. There is a lot to explore on the grounds. We went to the stream/swimming hole several times. My boys just loved it. And the pool is so refreshing after a hot day exploring. The kitchen offers everything you need to cook a meal but I'll be honest, we mostly ate out at all the amazing restaurants near by. Dawn has great recommendations. My 4-year-old twins cried the first night back home because they wanted "to be back at the butterfly house." We will definitely be back next time we visit. "

"After a very long day in shuttles from Puerto Viejo, Gilberto was a very gracious, friendly and welcoming host. He quickly got us into our room and albeit "Happy Hour" was over, he set us up with a couple beverages and let us get settled. Our room had all the amenities we needed with a nice balcony and view of the tropical gardens. The breakfast was good with several options, and the pool and lounging area were the perfect addition after a day at Bahia Ballena and other excursions. The staff, Jess at the front desk, the cooking and cleaning crew were all wonderful and very friendly. There is a grocery store/deli, Steve's, right at the corner which was great to have, and a restaurant La Fogata directly across from it, with many more dining options just a few minutes walk away. We enjoyed our time in Uvita and happily recommend staying here. "
