Beautiful city. Was rainy and cold a few days (May) but we took a taxi and explored the city. Hit Nijo (fish) Market. Had the most awesome seafood! Grilled King Crab legs, and kaisendon (sashimi grade seafood on rice). Also went to Otaru - must see!

Sapporo probably comes alive in winter when they have the ice festival etc on in the city. During the summer the city doesn't seem to have a lot to do, but possibly most people go there and hire a car to drive out into the gorgeous countryside.

Iconic nikka sign is just 500meters away. Lots of small bars and ramen alley is nearby. Walking in the snow for the first time for this tropical family was a challenge. All worth it

"This is my best 2 nights stay in Sapporo, I got upgraded with higher levels and the room is clean and spacious (btw this hotel is the only one I noticed they have changed bed sheets and pillows cover for my 7 days family trip) and I was able to store my luggage 2 days before I checked in. Front desk is professional and friendly, btw I was able to do late check out cause wife wants to do some shopping thanks to IHG memberships. "
