Avania Inn of Santa Barbara
10/10 Excellent
"Unpretentious place with clean rooms and ultra attentive staff. The beds were extremely comfortable. Location within an easy walk to wharf/harbor. Didn’t utilize pool but it looked a bit small. AC was OK but not great. Breakfast also good but could use some variety for those staying longer than 2 days. Would definitely stay again. "
"Lovely hotel which is well situated to explore the centre of Santa Barbara. We walked to the shopping streets in a matter of minutes, although we drove to the main beaches at the end of our stay as we were short on time.
Hotel grounds are nicely landscaped and well maintained, offering areas where you can sit and relax in the gardens for some quiet downtime.
Out room was small, but perfect for our single overnight stay. Charming cottage style, of sorts. A nice mix of modern and traditional styling. Both the room and bathroom were clean, and there was also a little private gated terraced area where you could sit, just outside of the entrance to the room.
Check-in was quick and simple, with the reception staff being polite and welcoming. Check-out was also very quick.
On-site parking wasn't an issue for us, although I suspect it may be problematic in high season if the hotel is fully booked.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this accomodation, and I would certainly consider staying here again if in the Santa Barbara area

"Check in was efficient and Esteban gave us restaurant recommendations and told us about the complementary bike rental. We were upgraded to a suite which had a full size refrigerator, stove and cooktop. As an Expedia VIP a bottle of complementary champagne was in the frig. They have a good sized pool and jacuzzi that looked very inviting, but we did not have a chance to get in. The continental breakfast had yogurt, oatmeal, breakfast breads/danish, fresh cut melon and egg bites. The property is older , but well kept and clean. We will be back!!"
