"All of the staff were wonderful, helpful and very nice. Great location by the beach. Good for the price but not as clean as I would like, not sure if it’s just because it’s an older building or something else. Check in and out was easy. They did have a small store in the lobby but the prices were outrageous, $8 for a water bottle and $8 for an ice cream sandwich that was partially melted… Parking being $25 a day is also outrageous. Breakfast buffet was nice and so was the attendant he was keeping everything clean and full while greeting and chatting with hotel guest. I do wish the buffet was a little longer even by an hour. Also keep in mind the hotel is on the highway so you will hear cars all night. All in all the hotel was okay for the price, the friendly staff really saves the hotel."

The Ranch at Laguna Beach

"This hotel is a place one who wants to get away from the noisy city should experience. Food at the restaurant was amazing, SPA (facial and massage) 9/10 (wish it had more amenities other than sauna), walking area around the property was very nice and my toddler enjoyed playing on the grass. Pool was ok, but kinda boring. We were pleased by the little wooden crib they provided which was a bit smaller than expected but my toddler slept in it the entire night, they also provided us with a diaper trash. A few things to keep in mind: our room was located on the second floor of a building and there was no elevator and nobody suggested to help us with luggage until I called the front desk. Next, our balcony was flooded with huge spiders and spider webs, creepy!!! Do something, please. Lastly, the way to the beach is a bit complicated. They give you a ride to the road, then you have to walk through the under tunnel and all the way to the beach, and to get back, we had to walk all the way to their beach cafe located super far away which smelled awful and ask them to call for the ride who will meet us on the other side of the road. But still worked well, just keep in mind. Other than that, they made us feel special and especially, my toddler. She got lots of goodies and stuffed animals😍"

"I've stayed at The Volare many times over the years and always had a great experience. I found out upon arrival that they are under new ownership so there were a few changes. Check in time is at 4pm instead of 3pm, they charge $20 per night for parking now and the deposit is reimbursed in 7-10 days instead of 72 hours. Not huge deals just small changes I wasn't expecting but I did think it was odd that I hadn't received a welcome email they sent before, like I had in the years passed. Since I've stayed there so many times, I've experienced many different rooms. I have to say this was the first time that noise was a real issue. The housekeepers started cleaning at 8am and while I understand they have so much work to do (and it's not easy!) I really wanted to sleep in but all I heard was cleaning and talking in the halls and neighboring rooms. Again, they have a job to do, totally understand but maybe if check in is an hour later they could start a bit later...? None of this would prevent me from coming back, the location is why I consistently choose Volare, I love being able to walk to downtown."

"Property is beautiful, the breakfast was amazing. Short walk to the beach to North Beach. The staff was nice. The area is quiet and there’s a lot of places to eat around. Can’t wait to come back. The only thing that I think they need to change are their bath towels."

"The location of this hotel can not be beat. It is convenient to whale-watching cruises, farmers' markets, restaurants, museums, trolleys, walking trails and beaches. It is an older hotel and shows its age. It will be demolished soon, so I now understand why there have not been any updates. The whole marina is being redone. Stay here while the prices are reasonable because it may be out of your price range after. The staff was friendly, and the free breakfast was basic. The pool was well used. $15 parking each night is not a bad price."

"My daughter and I did a girls trip and we felt very safe our entire stay. It was nice having the underground parking as well. Had an AMAZING ocean view (when it said "partial ocean view", I was expecting a lot less... happily surprised!). We weren't in the room a lot, as we explored the beaches and areas around Dana Point, but coming and going was very convenient."
