"The staff is very friendly and extremely helpful. The property is older and the room we stayed in was not sound proof. We could hear everything the guests in the room next door were doing and saying. We could also hear the showers from the room upstairs and the one next door; which sounded like a freight train was going through our room. The only thing the “gym” had were two treadmills, one of which was out of order."

"One night stopover convenient for SDU airport (although our flight was cancelled suddenly), and our airline took us to GIG. We were given a room that was comfortable but sadly the bathroom had a snag list as long as your arm. 1 no door architrave on inside. 2 Mirror light hanging free suspended by it’s wires. 3 No vent grille on extractor, just a big hole (and the thing didn’t cut out at all. 4 Towel rail so loose we dare not hang a towel on it. 5 Shower soap dispenser completely empty. "Hotel Belga is a hidden gem in Rio! I stayed several nights near the beach (Copacabana/Ipanema) and my stay at Belga was by far the best value for the money I spent. Absolutely friendly staff, modern rooms, and a nicely renovated facility in downtown Rio with easy access to other parts of the city via taxi or metro. Would highly recommend a stay here!"

"All around pleasant place to stay, from the room set up, including very nice plush mattress, to the friendly welcoming service by most staff. Excellent and well run breakefast. Only would drop the gloves the ladies use to clean the tables as they go and grab clean things wearing the same ones. Better not to use gloves and wash hands frequently. The area is busy and maybe a bit initmidating at first but it's actually a very neighborhood feel with plenty of local flavor. Quick ealk to downtown...
