"The Black Swan in the centre if Helmsley is ideal for visiting the local area,comfortable clean and well appointed. Staff helpful and pleasant. The menus for dinner and breakfast were excellent, served fresh and hot. We had a very comfortable stay and would definitely consider booking the hotel again in future."

"My friend and I had a girlie two night break at this hotel and loved it. When we arrived the receptionist noticed I was using a walking aid and unprompted started looking to change our room to an accessible room eliminating needing to use stairs. We were very touched by his thoughtfulness. It was an upgrade to a suite which was outstanding and it really enhanced our comfort and experience. We had a sitting room (with verandah) which was very comfortable and well equipped with a coffee maker, selection of high quality teas. There was a large bathroom and a super king size bed. Breakfast was nice, not outstanding but nice. The swimming pool was the big treat. Beautifully warm and the highlight of the stay. All the staff were very cheerful and friendly. This hotel is special and situated next to the Market Square which had lovely coffee shops, quaint shops and enticing pubs. Can’t wait to go back so thank you to all the staff especially Ali xxxxxx"

"This is a beautiful cottage set in the quiet village of Rievaulx with its amazing abbey. We enjoyed relaxing in the lovely private garden and walking our two dogs in the expansive farmlands beyond the gate. Expeditions to the nearby market town of Helmsley uncovered a castle and incredible walled gardens, the great bird of prey centre, as well as an excellent butchers, grocers, and other independent vendors."
