There's plenty of restaurants, cafes, bars and pubs from a few feet to a few blocks away. Walking ghost tours, walking the canal and the belle isle were all within a mile or two for us to walk to.

Richmond offers big city conveniences, with really interesting historical points of interest. The Edgar Allen Poe Museum is fun, and great art museums, too. Excellent place for "foodies," too!

Richmond was great! Fantastic food options for all and the Byrd theater is a must. Saw a few homeless people laying around the streets and some characters doing wheelies on ATVs down the street but felt safe overall.
"We were greeted by friendly staff and were taken care of thoughtfully throughout our stay. Our king bed room was spacious. I didn't feel crowded as I do in some hotels. I like the shower without tub option. The afternoon kickbacks were thoroughly enjoyed."

"My sister and I stayed here for a night during our annual "sister trip!" We loved the room (very clean and smelled nice), the service was fantastic, and the breakfast the next morning was perfect--especially the coffee! We would absolutely stay here again! "
"The Hotel Staff was nice and the beds were very comfortable, however the top portion of the freezer was frost bitten and wouldn't close. My sister is diabetic and needed to freeze her medicine. We called the front desk, but nothing happened until she spoke to the manager. Maintenance did come right away. However, because the refrigerator door didn't close the night before, all of the ice melted before hand. Management was willing to switch out the refrigerator. "
