"A grand hotel with lovely views however whilst the public areas are rather splendid, some areas do look a little tired and in need of updating. This didn't detract from our stay though. Plentiful and varied breakfast and a great location"

"Overall another good stay here, Mixed views on staff with most really welcoming and friendly while some are simply professional. Rooms are good but could do with some TLC due to worn paint work, window cleaning etc. Really good offering for breakfast. Overall good and would happily stay again."

"The safety of the room needs to be improved urgently. The window next to the children’s beds opened fully and didn’t have a lock to secure it. We kept waking up during the night out of worry in case the children opened it. This is really dangerous and is something we flagged up to the receptionist. The pool water was also very murky and you could barely see whilst swimming which made us question the cleanliness of the water. "

"Steve and Claire are amazing, it was a pleasure staying at The Clifton for 2 nights, perfect location to the pier, seafront, pubs and bars. Rooms very clean and tidy, everything you need. Breakfast was brilliant, very accommodating with food choice changes. Cost was more than reasonable and the far better than expected for the price. Comfy beds, quiet area and we slept brilliantly. Ours hosts were so friendly and provided a welcoming atmosphere, we have family in Paignton and will 100 percent come back here when we visit again, thanks for a great stay, it was perfect, Ben and Hayley."
