"The room smelled like cigarettes and urine. Yellow stains on the walls. Turned my key in and slept somewhere else. They won’t refund my money because I took a shower. I even used my own towel. Stay away from this nasty place."

"The room was clean. Note that if you reserve through a third party they will give you the least desirable room. I requested an early check in at 2pm. When I checked in they had just finished cleaning the room so the whole room smelled like bleach. I opened all the windows but that did not help. I was able to switch rooms. So I had my 2 dogs with me but I had to step out for a few minutes for the hotel breakfast. The manager called me and was so rude. I'm like did he forget that the hotel allowed dogs and that dogs actually bark? He asked if I was off the property without explaining what the call was about. It made me feel extremely uncomfortable. It was the strangest way to start off a phone call. So he continued to say people complained that my dogs were barking for an hour which was not true at all. He could've explained it without being rude and not assume that my dogs were left alone for an hour. He really seemed like he did not like his job. Even before the call. He lacked customer service skills. No smile or anything and standoffish or unapproachable. I was surprised to find out he was actually the manager. The gentleman at the front desk helped me switch rooms and also phoned me to let me know that the room was ready. He was very friendly and accommodating. Honestly the manager seemed to not be very people friendly at all."

"Nice hotel in a great location to explore San Clemente. We took train from San Diego so didnt have a car. Easy enough to get to from train station. Quiet and peaceful location, close enough to walk downtown but not too loud from night time crowds. Overall the staff was friendly and let us check in a couple hours early. Room was large and clean, we had a nice balcony. My only complaint was about the pool. We were traveling with 3 year old and she really wanted to use pool. We had to walk back and forth 3 times, twice because our keys wouldn't open gate to pool, he kept giving us new keys, until finally we were able to get into pool area. But then we learned there were no towels, so again had to walk back to front desk. you would think the guy at front desk would have mentioned something about towels one of the 2-3 times we checked with him about the pool."

"The building and room were excellent. I parked off street and was steps from my room. I ordered a pizza and the delivery was smooth! The bed was amazing and I loved the sheets! The bathroom is upgraded and nicely done. I had an appointment early and the Villa is centrally located in San Clemente and the traffic was good too! I enjoyed my stay and will return! Christy B"

"i’m not one to write reviews but our experience was so awful at this ‘hotel,’ that i feel compelled. to call this place a hotel is dubious. there was no one to help, billing themselves as fully automated, convenient for them not so much for the customer. there was loud noise late into the night being under a bar, the bed was very uncomfortable and had only a sheet, no extra blankets to be found anywhere. the shades didn’t keep the light or the noise from the street out. we knew we were in trouble when we saw the earplugs on the bedside table. we abandoned our next two paid nights because we didn’t sleep a wink. we were endlessly looped back to the bot olivia when we did try to get someone to talk to us. needless to say, they refused to return our money. "

"Beautifully clean property about a 1 mile walk to the beach. Completely remodeled unit, with modern decor. Plenty of space for our family of 6 traveling with 4 teens. The unit is the bottom floor of a 3 apartment/condo unit and so the people above were quite noisy to us down below even just their walking or toddler running was enough to wake us up early even if it wasn’t intended.Rental was well stocked with kitchen items which we used to prepare meals. And they even included additional dishwasher tablets that other places we’ve stayed have only provided 1. Owner was extremely responsive and came by to change batteries on the lock within an hour of me notifying him. Loved the property! Definitely recommend even with the noise above."
