"Lisa and Phil were great hosts! Very friendly and helpful; even helped recover our boat when it broke free from their dock during a storm. Cabin was great; very well furnished and a good location. Even had a bear visit 2 nights in a row! They warned us about it when they saw it so that we were safe when taking our dog out after dark. "

"This hotel is gorgeous, as are the grounds. It was oddly empty though, both guests and staff. It feels like we were there at the wrong time of year or the wrong era. A bit dated in some ways, but it also feels like it was a top of the line resort at some point. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We very much enjoyed our stay."

"My family of 4 had a great time here. The lake views and sunsets were amazing, the fishing was great (two largemouth bass over 3 lbs!), we saw bald eagles, loons, mink, Canadian geese, ducks and deer, and the location was perfect: close to town but very private. We never even saw a neighbor. The cabin itself was comfortable and there were so many little extras that made the stay even more enjoyable and showed how much the owners care. A soda stream machine, fire blankets just in case (may seem silly, but it made me feel like the owners have really taken the time to make sure everything is as safe as possible), wire baskets with battery operated lanterns next to each bed in the bunk room, games, a great booklet with all the information you might need about the house, the area, the best local places to eat and more. They even had a book about the local history and another dedicated to tying fishing knots. It was our favorite lake house rental!"

"The place was clean and well decorated. The kitchen had all the pots and pans required to cook a great meal. The house was located very near the grocery store and liquor store. The backyard was beautiful. We would stay at this location again!"

"The property was overall clean and in good order when we arrived. Absolutely loved the view and location! Very comfortable inside and the space on the deck was very nice and relaxing. The hosts were very helpful and communicated well, we had no issues finding the property. My only issue and what bothered me the entire time was the walk up to the cabin. My understanding was there were stairs up to the cabin and the listing did not have a disclaimer or say anything about the trail leading to the stairs. The trail is put together with rocks and old treated timbers which all are very slippery when wet. The climb up was not an issue for me or my boy but my father is not as stable as he used to be and it made him and myself very nervous going up or down the trail. It's 90% trail 10% stairs. Please be aware and perhaps some pictures would be helpful when deciding if this is the right property for you. I would not have picked this property had I known about the trail. The dock was awesome I can tell it was just put in and it had power run to it so it was very nice because we were out fishing all day and needed to charge the batteries. Overall experience was good and I would recommend it to someone looking to get away and enjoy Vermillion, just be aware of the walk up."

"Cabin is incredible and having the island to yourself on this beautiful lake made for a perfect father son weekend getaway! The cabin has all of the conveniences of home and the host could not be more accommodating. I have stayed at many VRBOs and this was one of the best experiences I have had! The fishing off the dock was great and the owner went out of his way to help us on how / where to catch fish. The lake itself offers great fishing and beautiful scenery. Even though you are on a private island, it is easy enough to access town, so you get the convenience of town with the peacefulness of being away from the noise. The cabin has a great outdoor sitting area and fire pit that we used almost every night. We would highly recommend this to anyone, whether you are an avid sportsmen or just want to get away and enjoy the absolute serenity that this lake has to offer. "
