"The staff was wonderful, the room was clean and the bedding was so comfortable. I had the breakfast burrito and yogurt parfait and it was delicious. Check out came too fast, I didn’t want to leave."

"This property is a converted motel and former Sonder. The rooms are newly renovated , very clean and the staff is very kind. This is a family run business. Security gates are code controlled and the staff is available 24/7. Free parking. If you are looking for great value and a great location in north Oakland near piedmont Ave , this is the place."

"Least that could have been done is to be given a room close to a better and bigger washroom given the age of the guests. My mother is 81, I went to the reception to ask but they gave me vague excuses to not help in anyway. We did find the other 2 common washrooms to be used by the guests but we found them on our own, the manager didn’t bother to share that info when we checked in."

"Berkeley City Club is an historic hotel and that means you have to be willing to accept some limitations of an older building, especially as compared to newer hotels. So - smaller rooms, smaller bathrooms, no in-room TV, no air conditioning. If you're ok with that, the Berkeley City Club is otherwise charming, with friendly staff, beautiful architecture and complimentary breakfast - a lot to like!"

"The room was clean and comfortable. The room has a lounge chair. We asked housekeeping for another blanket to use while reading on the chair and housekeeping delivered it quickly. There was a washer and dryer on our floor (1st), I don't know if each floor has one. There was free parking on the premises."

"Clean and comfortable room and bed. Large mini-frig a plus. Lots of hot water, good shower. Off street parking. Friendly staff. Good location, easy access to/from Hwy 580. Some restaurants, banks, gas stations and shops along MacArthur Blvd.. Furnishing are serviceable but worn. A dresser drawer was broken and could not be opened. Amenities could be better. Only one small bar of soap and no facial tissues. No wash cloth either. But good value for the price."
