"We enjoyed our stay at this hotel - it was very authentic Japanese style of beds on the floor which we found surprisingly comfortable. The only glitch, which I feel compelled to mention, is the 'smoking' area that is right at the entrance by the main door of the hotel. As soon as you enter the small corridor to walk towards Reception, the smell hits you! Other than that, the hotel was good, rooms were spacious and there were nice amenities supplied. Staff only had limited English, so...

"Very nice hotel. Good location, clean and comfortable. Staff was just superb. Breakfast buffet was a great value. I would definitely stay here again."

"Customer service was excellent."

"Staff were very helpful and kind. The room was clean but could do with updating the carpets as they were stained. Otherwise the design and size of the room was great and the location was perfect to get around the centre of Kyoto. Would recommend."

"The cross hotel is always a great stay. Very glad we booked it again for our trip to Kyoto."

"We were recommended this hotel by some old friends who stayed here last year. Admittedly we had a lovely corner suite which helped enormously but loved the hotel. Spotlessly clean and lovely room. The second even more minor was issue could be that it was very obviously a tourist hotel - everyone was Western with copious amounts of...

"Clean and comfortable, great value for the one night stay we had there. Great location for the subway and a Family Mart."

"Hotel was beautifully decorated and rooms were spacious- especially having spent previous nights in smaller rooms elsewhere. The hotel is a bit further from train stations but hotel has a shuttle available every hour that made it very easy to go back and forth. Would def stay again."

"High end hotel and it holds the mark. Excellent breakfast buffet"

"Agradable estancia"

"Amazing place! Would stay there again. Great location and beautiful hotel."

"In a slightly quieter area on the north side of Kyoto. The room was relatively large and had a nice kitchenette we were able to use for a night in and a great washer/dryer with free detergent that was great. Would recommend as long as you are ok walking a few extra minutes to the train stops."
