The Grand Hotel Nanaimo

8/10 Good

"The room was spacious and comfortable but the heating system was very noisy and no foldout tables were provided with the room. The breakfast room was quit opulent but the coffee was seldom hot and the pastries were chewy/not fresh. The fresh fruit selection was wonderful. We really liked the underground parking but the automatic door opener never seemed to work when exiting."

Travelodge by Wyndham Nanaimo

10/10 Excellent

"From the first moment that I checked-in, I was warmly greeted by the Front Desk staff that made my stay feel like home the minute I walked through their doors. Checking-in was a breeze & took less than 5 minutes as they were quite organized before I walked into my impeccably clean room-- the little touch of having the tv & the front lamp on upon arrival was a consideration that made me certain that I chose the right hotel to stay at for my 4 day stay. Everything from the fold in the sheets & towels to the way that the staff would check to see if I needed anything made this cozy hotel a memorable stay for my first time in Nanaimo. The staff were so on-top of everything from ensuring that the daily Continental Breakfast was consistently topped-up with fresh food for all guests to enjoy to ensuring the hot water dispensers were full (a small detail that most would overlook but the thought & consideration was definitely noticed!)-- the staff never missed a beat! Here, you're treated like family, instead of a guest renting a room. I definitely got alot of value from my stay at the Travelodge in Nanaimo & I'll definitely come back to this hotel at my next visit to Nanaimo! Thank you!"

UNIQUE RESIDENTIAL OCEANFRONT PROPERTY ON VANCOUVER ISLAND

10/10 Excellent

"Just....WOW!! This was one of the best VRBO experiences we've ever had...from the breathtaking water views, to the serene woods, to the beautiful, warm and comfortable home, this was an absolutely incredible stay! Check-in was very easy and everything went smoothly upon arrival and departure. The house was well-appointed with everything we could ask for and more. The view was SO wonderful, we spent an entire day sitting on the porch and in the hot tub - binoculars in hand. We spotted whales, sea lions, bald eagles, and were greeted by sweet deer every morning. The property had easy walking trails through the woods and also along the cliffs and coves. It was simply a one-of-a-kind magical experience. We're already making plans to return!"

Oceanfront Resort Corner Double Queen Beds Suite

8/10 Good

"Room was clean - I had expected a view with the end unit but no view - as this was part of an adjoining room option I found it a bit noisy - you could clearly hear the people next door. There is a fridge - microwave - toaster and tea kettle - would have been nice to have a couple of water or wine glasses and perhaps few pieces of cutlery, plates and bowls. Fireplace gave nice ambience and the walk along the trail to the ocean front was nice - great parking as well and close to many local attractions (driving)."
