"We spent ten wonderful days in the oasis known as Casa del Maya. It was our first trip to Yucatan Mexico and the beautiful colonial city of Merida. Upon our arrival, we asked Arun, the manager of the property, for a local guide. He introduced us to Carlos who is bilingual and offers tours. "Beautiful hotel, staff very friendly, made us feel at home. Breakfast was delicious. Pool si very small. It’s a beautiful boutique hotel at ground level so expect some traffic noise, if you are a light sleeper maybe you better look for a different option, for us it was not an issue and we enjoyed every minute we spent there. Can’t wait to visit them again. Thanks."

"We couldn’t get into the place. We arrived and there was no one anywhere on the property. Didn’t seem like there were any guests either. The reception was completely empty. It was very eerie and we drove far out of our way for this place. We left and had to drive all the way to Cancun. Worst experience with a hotel I’ve ever had. Refund my money immediately please. "I booked a single individual room and when I arrived they tried to trick me telling me it was actually a dorm but when they found out I knew spanish very well they decided to respect my single individual room reservation. It was only one night so it wasn't "convenient" for them but I am so thankfull they decided to respect my reservation and the young girl was nice but her mom gave me a look so horrific I would never look her way again."
