"The hotel is ideally situated - while not being in an immediately picturesque location, its proximity to the M6, A66 and Penrith North Lakes railway station make it the perfect base for exploring the beauty of the Lake District in one direction and Yorkshire in the other. The staff are excellent, particularly in the FYR restaurant: friendly, helpful and attentive. The food is equally impressive and the hotel itself is clean, comfortable and a pleasure to stay in. "

"Lovely hotel in a lovely village. Very clean, and we had a very spacious room on the top floor. Note - no lift and no aircon though. Wonderful outdoor patio areas, private resident seating area in the bar which was lovely and the breakfast was superb."

"Welcomed on arrival by Vickie who was very pleasant and helpful. The room was very clean. Tea/ coffee making facilities in the room, and a nice touch was the freshly cut cake! The bed was very comfortable, and we slept well. A valuable addition to the room was the pedastal fan!! We would most definitely stay here again."
