"Customer service in the restaurant was amazing lots of different selections off food to choose from. Spa was lovely shame robes weren’t available In the room though. £1 coin needed for the lockers which I hadn’t realised. The rooms are very clean the bed was so comfy great nights sleep "

"Two couples, stayed for four nights. Clean comfy and warm aided by the nice little wood burner. Two good pubs and a Michelin starred restaurant within easy walking distance. The pubs do tend to stop serving food early and in the case of Queens Head are not open all week so plan accordingly. This was in early Feb so no complaints about the pubs."

"Room wasn't great for the cost (was pretty small, but is limited because of the type of building), however the bathroom looked like it had recently been refurbished, and the room was clean. Breakfast was excellent, and the staff were very helpful."

"This was a short holiday for my husband and me, and our adult children. We had cosy fires every evening and some nice meals in the dining room and the area. Plenty of walks, plenty of shops in Penrith for buying supplies. Very clean and well equipped cottage. Thoughtfully decorated. Very quiet area. We will be back I am sure."

"A lovely cozy cabin, well equipped and with the benefit of a mystery to solve, where the secret cutlery drawer was hidden, we failed and had to ring Lisa to tell us where it was. 😂. The cabin was lovely and the large enclosed garden was fabulous for the dogs.It was clean and bed was really comfy. Log fire was lovely and an ample supply of logs to use. The location was quiet and peaceful but near to towns for supplies and eating out. The jacuzzi bath was an added luxury. Okay the showers aren’t great but adequate. The heating system is storage heaters and doesn’t suit everybody who like to have total control of the heating but we found it fine and the cabin was naturally warm and we even turned the heating off some nights. All in all we had a lovely week in a lovely comfortable well equipped cabin that we would definitely return to. The owners have obviously gone to a lot of trouble to ensure guests have everything they need and have a great holiday. Thank you for a lovely week."

"Fantastic week away at the old mill. Beautiful secluded location and we loved watching the trains go by. Penrith a very short drive away probably 15 mins and same for pooley bridge/ullswater which is beautiful. Lots of restaurants and pubs nearby to eat out at. We arrived on the Saturday, heating was on and we found everything to be very clean and tidy. We didn’t really need to buy anything i.e washing up liquid, toilet roll etc. someone has also kindly cut up lots of logs and kindling for the fire. We were also greeted with a bottle of wine and a box of shortbread which was a nice touch. Highly recommended!"
