"We really enjoyed our two night stay at Melville Castle.The castle is beautiful and well located for trips into Edinburgh,set in lovely countryside.It is very dog friendly,with a dog friendly area in both the restaurant and breakfast room.We stayed in the two bedroom suite which was perfect for a family stay with lots of space and very comfortable beds as well as being beautifully decorated.An extra bathroom or separate toilet would have made it even better.We would recommend highly!"

"I can't say enough about this place. Our stay was exceptional and revitalizing; If you're looking for quiet and solitude this is the place to go. You can hear bird chirping, no road noise, and the gardens are beautiful. The food was fantastic. I can't say enough about the staff. They are amazing and everything you wished a hotel staff would be. They catered to us like we were the only ones there. If you want a quiet place to go to after a day exploring the Borderlands in Scotland; this is the place. Even if you just want a place to relax and unwind for a few days this is a great place to go. "The Craigie is excellent hotel with lovely rooms. Our dinner there was excellent. Our breakfast was also very good. The staff were helpful & friendly. My only negative comment is that the carpet in the dining area & on the stairs needs replacing; it is worn & stained. "
