The only problem was communicating if we needed anything - we ran out of body wash and we left a note on our door because staff would come by and collect garbage and old towels. "It was our family’s first time staying at a machiya. It was an easy place to find upon arrival in Kyoto. The house was lovely. The tea ceremony at check-in along with the Japanese sweets were much appreciated. They were able to help us arrange for delivery of our luggage onwards to our next city. "It's a nice place to experience the traditional Japanese living house. It's good to have 3 sizable beds for 3 persons. The room is clean and quite spacious. Shopping areas, good restaurants, convenience store and metro station can be found in a few minutes walking distance from the house. "

"Although this property was an old nice machiya they updated it with a nice bathroom. But the beds were really comfy. I didn’t care for the location because it was far from bus and train station. It’s a long hot walk with all our luggage. Overall I probably wouldn’t stay again because of location but the inn was really great. "
