"I’m not sure I can say enough good things about this magical place. The cabin was perfectly clean and had absolutely everything one could hope for. Everything was as depicted in the pictures and just a true pleasure of a space. The AC in the bedrooms was a huge plus for travelers coming from cold climates. The kitchen and its amenities were a huge class as well, and it had every convenience who could hope for, for easy cooking. The location is truly beautiful. It really is right in the beach where you have access to both the rocky landscape and sandy openings for wake boarding or surfing. If you keep your eyes open you will see the entire ecosystem of natural wonders. From hummingbirds and the birds to iguanas and baby sea turtles, to colorful tropical fish in the tide pools that form the tide is out, to hermit, crabs, and live sand dollars, the exploration right out the door is endless. As a mother traveling solo with her daughter, we both felt very safe at this beautiful place, and my heart already earns to return.The hosts were exceptionally responsive and wonderfully kind, and we feel both lucky and grateful for them to have opened this cabin up. You can simply feel that the cabinet is full of care, love and kindness."

"I loved the short walk to the beach. The beach was beautiful and hardly anyone was on the beach. Also saw some monkeys in the trees out back of the property. The food was good, we only ate there twice. We had several drinks each night at the bar. Loved the location being so close to several sodas. Road to the lodge was rough but all the roads were pretty rough. Make sure if you book this through Expedia they have your flight landing in Liberia not San Jose, we lost two days due to SJO being our airport. It doesn't seem far away but with traffic the way back took us 7 hours. So grateful to the staff and owner of Gucamaya Lodge, you helped us so much and we enjoyed your company. Can't wait to return one day!"

"Andrea was FANTASTIC! This home is just as it is listed. Absolutely beautiful, the beach was amazing & very private. Our stay was more than we could have asked for. Andrea even purchased some groceries we requested ahead of time because we were getting in so late, of course we reimbursed her. I highly recommend! "

"Fantastic hotel, restaurant, and hospitality. We stayed in a suite... it was clean, quiet, comfortable, and had amazing water pressure in the shower. It was a perfect night sleep. We used the pool, ate at the restaurant for dinner and breakfast, and the ocean is a short walk to a quiet beach! There's a great upper deck to sit and read while sipping coffee or a drink from the restaurant. The best part was the staff/hospitality. I cannot thank the people taking care of us enough. You were the highlight! I believe the bartender/server's name was Steven(?) and he was awesome. Kind, helpful, and pleasant. The chef was amazing too! This place is a hidden gem and we will be back to stay again."

"The view is beautiful. The sunsets are spectacular. The internet works well. 2 of us had to use it to work from vacation. Beds are comfortable. The caretakers are very nice and keep everything in working order. They respond immediately to any problem or question as does the management company. The pool is great and this is the very first time that a house description was accurate and we really did have an infinity pool. They mention a dog living on the property. I am not a dog person and worried about this, but this dog is so quiet and docile that we all grew to love him. The website also mentions the steep steps to the beach. Believe them. The steps are steep, but my husband is 80 and I am 79 and we had no issues using them. Restaurants and groceries are close. And lastly, the Costa Rican people are friendly and kind. We felt welcomed and safe every where we traveled and we did travel from see the sights."

"We often had the entire beach all to ourselves. The kids LOVED the pool. The property manager was very responsive to questions and very helpful with suggestions. We even got to release baby turtles! We had 4 adults and 2 children. Understand the layout of the bedrooms if you have young children. Ours slept on the sleeper sofa in the living space to be close to their parents in the primary bedroom. Two bedrooms are downstairs on the beach side of the house so whoever sleeps there must go around the house to the front stairs to get to the living space and the kitchen. It worked great for us. Rooftop patio was perfect for amazing sunset views. There were many great restaurants nearby. It was a great stay! We would stay again."

"The house was great! Everything you could need. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Front door sticks a bit and there are no inside stairs to the upper lever which we did not realize. But it was fine. Great for groups. The pool was the perfect size and very needed during dry season! Just a short walk to the beach. It was a cute town. Highly reccomend."
