"Magical, simply magical. That is the only way to describe this place. From arrival to egress, the people there made us feel welcome and well taken care of. Breakfast and Dinner were served everyday and you do NOT want to miss them. I'm a large guy and I thought I wouldn't get full, I was wrong. The Ryokan is immaculate and the grounds are spectacular. We had planned to spend a day in Kyoto but we spend so much time wandering around the shrines, shops, cafes, and coffee houses we never made it...

"This is the perfect place for an authentic Japanese experience. The staff are wonderful and the meals are superb. Tranquil surroundings with a 5 star multi-course meals each day for breakfast and dinner. The sauna and hot baths were great for winding down after a day of touring. Touring was easy because bus lines and train lines are nearby. We were sorry to leave the Tea House and really hope to return some day. "

"The hotel it's small but super clean and well done. The staff is super helpful and friendly. The rooms are spacious and the bathroom huge. The only thing is that is on a quiet neighborhood so it's like 20 minute walk to the canal and Nishiki market but still centric enough. Also, the futon sounds like a good idea until the second night and your hips are dying...just saying. It's not as easy as you think if you are 35 or older..."
