Istanbul is very vibrant, historic, and full of energy. Istanbul is stimulating and layered. It wasn't the most grounding stop for me personally, but I'm grateful for the experience and the reflection it brought. A city that meets you where you are.

Istanbul is a great, sprawling city with unique neighborhoods. The Suleymaniye neighborhood is just west of the Sultan Ahmet touristy center, but also near the Fatih Mosque neighborhood and Bazar. For tourists on foot, it is nicely central and scenic

Istanbul is my favourite city break destination, both airports are connected to the metro system and many of the attractions are walking distance apart. The public ferry services are cheap and frequent, the food and atmosphere are to be experienced.

Top recommendations, roaming data rates in Turkey are really high. Use hotel wifi or buy a local sim if you're going to be around longer. Get an Istanbulkart (excellent value by European standards). For food follow locals not tourists to avoid scams!

Istanbul is a great city to visit and explore and it does not sleep. With a diverse population of over 15m it's never dull or boring. Definitely a city of the haves and have nots. Great city to walk, whatever time of the day. Go and enjoy 👍

You love it or hate it. I love it in spite of the traffic, all the smokers who ignore no smoking signs, cleanliness challenges and noise. The food, historic sites and mix of cultures and ethnicities are glorious. Europe and Asia truly meet here.

I loved Istanbul. There are so many things to do and the food everywhere is just great. It's all within walking distance but public transportation is also very convenient and affordable. The trams even have air conditioner and are very punctual

Istanbul was a lovely city to visit. There was a lot of cultural shock definitely! I don't think I'd stay in Sultanahmet again as I enjoyed my trip much more when we moved to Nişantaşı. I'd just visit Sultanahmet to visit the main attractions.

I enjoyed taking the ferries around the Bosphorus and Marmara Sea. You don't need to do a tour of the Bosphorus just hop on ferries which are cheaper and take you to the same places. The Adalar Islands are nice to visit in the Marmara Sea
