"While the room itself provided a comfortable bed, the rest of my stay was marred by poor service and hygiene concerns. Most notably, the bathroom had a persistent smell of sewage which made the environment very unpleasant. The bar area appears to be significantly understaffed and poorly managed. On one evening, I waited 20 minutes for a drink while the lone barmaid was clearly distressed by the volume of orders; despite her requesting help, none was provided. On a separate occasion, the staff behind the bar appeared completely untrained and lacked basic knowledge of service. It was disappointing to see hardworking staff left unsupported and guests left waiting."

"Hotel condition and location really good however both being in our seventies, with two full sized suitcases, we were really surprised and seriously disappointed to have been given a half landing room having to lug our suitcases up and down six-seven stairs by ourselves!! Checkin clerk didn’t seem aware or concerned. "

"Such a lovely hotel with so many nice extra touches, like the complementary soft drinks, coffees and pick & mix station (unlimited!). We also received delicious fresh chocolate treats and bottled water on arrival and departure! We stayed with our spaniel, and she was very welcomed by all staff (as were we!). The car park was full when we arrived (only for a couple of hours due to an event), but it was no issue as the hotel has overflow access to parking in the bowls carpark next door. Parking was £20, but it was well worth it for two full days exploring lovely Bath. We loved everything about our stay and would definitely return to the Bird. A big thank you to the staff for making our stay special for my partner’s birthday :)"

"Beautifully appointed and impeccably clean, the Kennard delighted us from beginning to end. It’s located on a quiet residential street, but conveniently just a short walk from the central attractions of Bath. The staff were friendly, warm and accommodating; and the breakfast buffet was delicious. Our stay was extremely pleasant and comfortable, and we are looking forward to our next opportunity to return."
