Great Western Hotel

"Prime location with sea views from the restaurant/pub. Staff were friendly and always smiling. Carpets are extremely tired and somewhat dirty and dusty, they need replacement or a big carpet wash! No air con and no fridge in both rooms we had booked. With the heat you need air con. There was a fan supplied which helped. Breakfast was pretty good with limited continental items but you can also order a meal from a set menu. Staff were nice."

"Not as good customer service as normal with regards to checking in and sloppy attention to detail. Confirmed by phone and in app and booked a dog friendly room with two beds as travelling with a friend. When checking in discovered the family room I booked was relocated and we were given a double. Luckily a twin room was found. Other than that a nice stay."

"The hotel was very clean and a lovely position with a great view from the terrace. The staff was all very helpful in our two night stay. The only issue is if you book for the basic room then be prepared for a very small room which didn’t even have a chair in the room as it was so small. Next time I would book for a better room but obviously this costs you more. Overall very good."

"Clean room a bit smaller than expected but nicely done. Booked a parking place in May, phoned day before arrival to make sure it was available and it was confirmed. Phoned again 12.00 to ask if we could park early, again confirmed. On arrival we were told we didn't have a parking place!!! We were told to park on the next street. "

"Absolutely fantastic experience. We were very late to check in after an evening golf round ran late and the owner was there waiting for us personally. Rooms are excellent and view of the harbor is amazing. Owner is also an executive chef so we dined there one night and is was incredibly good. Must stay if you’re in Newquay!"
