Had the best time here. Just a chill place. Got unlucky on second night with this group of people in my room. One dude snored so loud it woke up the dead. Obviously didn’t get much sleep that night. Not the hostel’s fault but was raging. Despite that all good.

The service was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean though the power (Room 6 bed 4) did not work. The comfort could have been improved by adding privacy curtains or similar. However, it was comfortable and reasonable value overall, and I would stay again

Some negatives but I’ll be back again!

I stayed at this lovely place for one night in a standard double room with en-suite. The bar is very good! Friendly staff. The views are extremely picturesque. The only things I could fault are: - The room was very cold when we got back in at around 11pm. - in the morning I went to fill the kettle up but the inside of it was smothered with mould!! So we had to go out and spend £6 on two cups of teas at a cafe☹️ Regardless, I will be staying again.

No stay and no refund!

I would not book. I booked the stay on the Saturday morning, then set off for Newquay. On arrival the man behind the bar was laughing at us saying how he hopes we aren't going to spend the night here as they have no hot water, wishing us luck... I was 'helped' by a supervisor and she gave me the upmost confidence that I will be able to get a refund for the stay. But this was not possible. When I asked her then for a rebooking of the stay to a future day, she just stopped contacting me back. So I spent £70 for them to just keep. I was told that I was emailed about the boiler issue, but this was incorrect too. In a nutshell, rude, unwelcoming staff, lack of communication for the boiler issue, snubbed away after unsuccessful refund request from Hotels.com. Thanks for wasting my time and money.

Horrible place!

More students house than hostel.Lots of young people making noise at 3 am and slamming the doors of the rooms. Room was clean but very worn out with wall paper peeling off .As it was room on top floor could hear roof vent rattling all the time.There was no way to stop that noise. The only positive think about that place is -room 13 which we had has beautiful sea view.

Decent place to crash

I stayed at this hostel for 2 nights and it was a mixed bag to be honest, negatives 1st- confusion at check in which wasn't resolved even after i left 2 days later with my coupon used via Hotels.com, their should be better communication between the hostel and hotels.com and not upto the guest to do all the work, the staff themselves weren't overly friendly and seemed preoccupied with customers outside of the hostel rather than guests that needs to change, and although it was so called "freedom day" people weren't able to freely mix at the bar as was the case down the road. The room itself didn't have any AC or even a fan available which in a middle of a heatwave isnt ideal, and I didn't see any cleaner's clean my room in the 2 nights i was there as is the case in other hostels ive stayed at and on top of that their was no access to hire towels despite this being advertised by the hostel (Covid regs outlaw cleanliness!) Positives- 1 member of staff Tom was friendly and helpful and did his best to help even accepting my request to change to a lower bed, the views from my room were outstanding! and the location of the hostel perfect right in the heart of town, I would recommend this place but their is room for improvement if the hostel management take it on board and take this constructive criticism, all the best.

The staff on the ground floor were nice. There was sand and mud on the floor of shower room. No staff cleaned the room. Room service included adding toilet paper only. The vibe was cozy. There was not noisy in the “quiet room” (as requested).
