"We had the ocean view room on the second floor. It was newly renovated, with a beautiful private bathroom and beautiful wood work throughout. We were a bit spoiled when we were there, since there were no other guests on our floor during our stay. The kitchen and living room were spacious and well equipped, and Josh was always there to help us if we needed it. We would definitely stay here in the future"

"We really enjoyed our stay here. The property was secure and we felt safe. The house was very clean, the bedding was comfortable and the towels were so soft and fluffy! Easy access in and out of the property. Jordan was a great host and responded promptly to any requests or questions we had. 5 star rating from our family! Mahalo!"

"This was amazing! We’d done a week in Waikiki and wanted a few days somewhere quieter and with lots of nature. It felt like being in the Hawaiian countryside and was a great home base between Volcanoes NP, snorkeling, swimming, and a day trip to Kona. The house is nestled in a neighborhood of fruit trees, right by lava rock cliffs. At night you hear frogs and birds. Its quaint…we bought shortbread out of someone’s garage and Saturday coffee at the end of someone’s driveway! The house is comfortable and cool with plenty of fans and screened windows. The whole process of renting, checking in, and checking out was easy. I would love to return."

"Simply put - This property exceeded our expectations by a mile as did the supremely kind people at Salt Water Hawaii Vacations. When looking for a VRBO, people want accurate descriptions they can trust. You can trust what you see on the page. The grounds are lovely and beautifully maintained. The house was immaculate. The kitchen had what we needed and my daughter loved the Viking stove. The pool was clean. The washer and dryer was clean and well maintained. Although there isn't air conditioning (and I hate sleeping hot) it was not a problem because the breeze flowed through the house (that surprised me). My daughter said her bed was the more comfortable than any VRBO property, resort or hotel we have ever stayed in. Thank you, Tara (hope I spelled you name correctly) for making my family feel welcome."

"Location was great! Private pool was awesome. House was spacious and clean, the whole fam loved it. Host messaged us during our stay that Kilauea was erupting and we should go see it, and she was right! So thoughtful for her to send us the info we needed for that adventure. If I can get back to the Big Island again, I am definitely staying here."

"The property is in an amazing location outside of Hilo. It is surrounded by amazing gardens with the ocean across the street. The street the house is on is quiet. The host offers a lot of amenities for spending time at the beach or bike riding. It is a beautiful property and we would stay there again if we come back to Hilo."

"One of the most unique VRBO’s we’ve stayed at. The views were breathtaking, the neighborhood was peaceful and beautiful to take morning and evening walks, and the house was pretty neat. Owner provided plenty of necessities where we weren’t running to the store to buy extra items. Close to Hilo and Volcanoes National Park for sight seeing and lagoons. We will look to this place first the next time we come back."

"Staying on the ocean was awesome! Get up early for amazing sunrises with the waves crashing against the rocks. The house was just what our family needed. It was big enough for the eleven people that stayed there. There was even a swimming pool which I don't think was advertised in the listing. Each room had its own AC which made it very comfortable. The kitchen had a decent set of pans to cook with. I'm usually used to mangled secondhand pans that make it difficult to cook."

"This was one of the best VRBO's we've stayed at & we travel a lot! Tara & Steve thought of everything! The place is very private, like your own little oasis. It's decorated so cute. Lots of attention to detail. Easy to find on GPS. Nice sitting area with TV. Could be used as a second bedroom. There are privacy curtains. The bed was very comfy. Plenty of pillows. Lots of space to hang clothes plus plenty of drawers for clothes. Nice bedside tables with drawers also. The bathroom was great. Shower pressure perfect. Double sinks with plenty of light. There were lotions, sunscreen, bug spray, body wash, shampoo, conditioner. The kitchenette is small but ample for microwave dinners. The fridge is compact but has a freezer. There's a coffee maker & water filtration system. They provide a cooler, beach chairs, games, they have it all! There is no AC but the ceiling fans & Woozoo fan were plenty. It's nice & cool at night. They also provide ear plugs if you don't care for the coqui frogs. They can get pretty loud but they were music to our Midwestern ears. It's also 3 blocks from lava cliffs with some awesome views & waves. Down the street a piece is Maku'u Point that's a definite place to visit. Lots of great places to eat in Kea'au & Pahoa. Tara has a detailed handbook with places to go & eateries! Highly recommend staying with Tara & Steve. They are right upstairs & available. Such great hosts! Thanks for having us! Mahalo!"
