"Perfect place to stay overnight before a flight from Stansted. Lots of choice for your help yourself breakfast. Wasn’t made aware that you could leave your car there and take a taxi to the airport. Would have definitely saved some money. Maybe this could be highlighted more."

Likewise, the picture used to advertise the hotel is not a picture of any public or restaurant space in the hotel building, but a picture of the pub/restaurant 150 feet away. "They turned off the air conditioner and gave 2 fans. 1 of them didn’t work. Plus I couldn’t open 1 of the windows as it was broken. It was roasting hot over the past couple of days so I needed things work and open. The toilet pan and shower were dirty. I wouldn’t go back."

"I stayed here for work purposes being a short 20 minute commute to Grt Baddow. My work colleague and I were made very welcome. The place was spotlessly clean. Had a lovely bar downstairs for drinks and pub snacks and did a fantastic breakfast in the morning.. I would recommend the full English although there were alternatives, all in all I had a very good stay. I would definitely return to the Oakland if I was working in the area.."

"Having stayed on one of hottest days of year the air conditioning in bedrooms was extremely welcome and efficient. I thought uk king size beds would be standard in hotels. Not used to a double bed but it was clean and comfortable. Bathroom spotless but struggled to access the shower over bath as you had to step in onto slope at end of bath. If you have even a minor disability then try to get an accessible room.. The pool was a good size and well maintained as was gym. Good sized pool towels....
