"We recently did a family trip to take a cruise; was a surprise trip for our father who has talked about going for decades. We opted to fly into Anchorage and explore on land a few days before going to Seward to hop on the cruise ship. We are so glad that we opted for the few extra days beforehand instead of taking a bus straight to the cruise ship. This stay in Bird Creek was exactly what we wanted. It had plenty of space for our group, was super clean and comfortable. We appreciated that it was a bit removed; not in Anchorage and not in Alyeska. But this served as a great central location for us to explore nearby for a couple of days. The host team were very responsive to any questions we had, and were even flexible with our arrival time. If you are looking for a place that is a little more removed but within short driving distance, this is a great option especially if you have a large group. Many beds and bedrooms, large TV, even a hot tub (although we never got a chance to take a dip!)."
